The Houston Dynamo (No. 4 seed) host the New York Red Bulls (No. 1 seed) on Sunday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium in the first leg of the MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Dynamo advanced to the Semifinals with a 3‐0 win over the Montreal Impact in Thursday’s Knockout Round. The Red Bulls won the Supporters’ Shield behind a 5‐2 win over the Chicago Fire on Sunday. The series is a two‐game, aggregate score series. The club with more total goals from the two games wins the series. The second leg is on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT at Red Bull Arena.

The Dynamo clinched the fourth seed in the East and a place in the playoffs with a 2‐1 win at D.C. United on Sunday. The Impact fell at Toronto FC 1‐0 on Saturday but qualified for the playoffs for the first time after entering MLS in 2012. The Dynamo and Impact will play for the fourth time this season after three encounters in the regular season.
