D.C. United will be aiming to avoid a history-making campaign when they face a Houston Dynamo side fighting for its playoff life as the Eastern Conference clubs meet Sunday afternoon at RFK Stadium. United need a win to ensure they will not end a season with the fewest victories in MLS history, coming off a 1-0 loss at Sporting Kansas City last week. The Dynamo need a victory if they are to return to the MLS Cup Playoffs after back-to-back MLS Cup Final appearances, after their 3-0 home loss to New York last weekend.
Dynamo: Hall; Sarkodie, Boswell, Brunner, Ashe; García, Creavalle, Clark, Davis ©; Barnes, Bruin
Subs: Deric, López, Carrasco, Chabala, Weaver, Cummings, Driver
D.C. United: Hamid; Korb, Riley, Woolard, Iapichino; Porter, Silva, Jeffrey, Pontius; De Rosario, Doyle
Subs: Willis, Dykstra, Shanosky, Martin, DeLeon, Nyassi, Pajoy
The starting lineups are in for the second leg of the Eastern Conference Championship. Both squads have a few changes from the first leg due to players returning from injury or players not being able to go because of injury.
Starting Lineup: Hall; Sarkodie, Boswell, Taylor, Ashe; Garcia, R. Clark, Moffat, Davis (C); Bruin Kandji.
Available subs: Deric, Barnes, Camargo, Ching, Creavalle, Hainault, Weaver.
The big question mark coming into the match was the health of midfielders Ricardo Clark and Adam Moffat. Clark missed the first leg and Moffat was forced out early, but both players trained the past two days and are in Dominic Kinnear's starting XI. Jermaine Taylor is also back for the Dynamo after picking up an injury in the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against Sporting KC.
Starting Lineup: Hamid; Russell, Jakovic, Dudar, Korb; Boskovic, Kitchen, Saragosa (C), DeLeon; Santos, Pajoy.
Available subs: Willis, McDonald, Woolard, Augusto, De Rosario, Neal, Salihi.
For the home side, all-star midfielder Dwayne De Rosario is still sidelined by injury, but is available off the bench for United. Chris Pontius was another question mark for Ben Olsen's side, but after leaving the first leg at BBVA Compass Stadium he has been ruled out for today's match.
Coverage for today's match begins at 3 pm CT on NBC Sports Network. You can also hear it locally on KPRC 950 and La Ranchera 850. Also, follow along on @DynamoMatchday for in-game updates.
