The Houston Dynamo return home to face a massive match in their bid for a playoff spot as they play host to the New York Red Bulls on Sunday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Dynamo come home off a three-game road swing that ended with a 2-0 midweek loss at Columbus that dropped them out of the top five in the Eastern Conference. The Red Bulls have moved back into a tie atop the division, following their 2-1 home win against D.C. United last week.

The Columbus Crew begin a new era at midweek when they play host to the Houston Dynamo at Crew Stadium. With Brian Bliss now in charge of the bench coaching duties, the Crew are eight points out of the final playoff position in the Eastern Conference following their 1-0 home win to Seattle at the weekend. The Dynamo are also in need of points, tied for fifth place in the division and the final postseason spot, after their 1-1 draw at Chicago to start their road swing.

Saturday's match between Seattle and Columbus really had it all: an early red card, a controversial celebration, a high-profile injury and a coach getting fired in the fallout.

The kick save by Crew 'keeper Matt Lampson and a desperate tip from Sounders netminder Michael Gspurning are two of the five finalists for the Week 27 Save of the Week award.
Rounding out the ballot is the flying stop by Toronto's Joe Bendik, the slightest of touches from Sporting Kansas City's Jimmy Nielsen and a last-minute lunge by Tally Hall that saved a point on the road for the Houston Dynamo
