Summary
The Dynamo were dumped out of the Champions League in a shocking upset loss to the tournament’s weakest team, which entered the game with a -17 goal differential in five games. Two early goals put Houston in a hole, and despite goals from Geoff Cameron and, bizarrely, from goalkeeper Tally Hall, the Dynamo fell 3-2 and failed to advance.

The Houston Dynamo escaped La Chorrera, Panama Wednesday night with a point in the CONCACAF Champions League Group A standings – and their health, mostly – after a crazy game that included five red cards, a power outage, and projectiles thrown from the crowd. In the end, after a 12-minute delay during stoppage time, the Dynamo and Panamanian club Árabe Unido finished level at 1-1.

Dynamo fall to Atlante in CCL quarters
The Houston Dynamo conceded a pair of first-half goals to Mexican club Atlante on Tuesday night en route to a 3-0 defeat at Estadio Andres Quintana Roo and elimination in the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League, 4-1 on aggregate.
Atlante became the first team to advance to the semifinals of the inaugural tournament, and they will meet either the Montreal Impact of the United Soccer Leagues or Honduran champions Marathon in the next round. Houston is the latest victim in an unfortunate streak for Major League Soccer clubs, who have yet to win a match on Mexican soil.
Dynamo settle for draw with Atlante
The Houston Dynamo nearly opened their 2009 calendar in style but ended up settling for a heartbreaking 1-1 tie with Atlante of Mexico in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal series Tuesday at Robertson Stadium. Bobby Boswell's header in the 34th minute opened the scoring for Houston, but an 82nd-minute equalizer from Gabriel Pereyra left the teams deadlocked.
