When it comes to the Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders, one thing is for sure: Hold onto your hats.

Through the clubs’ short history against each other, they have put on
some memorable matches in some incredibly high-pressure situations.
While Saturday’s match is a regular-season tilt, for Houston the match carries significance in a playoff push they are trying to ignite.

For the up-and-down Houston Dynamo, there is one player who has
proven to be a steadying force. The only problem is, that player has had
trouble staying on the field.

It has been a long road on the way to recovery for the Houston Dynamo’s Calen Carr.

After suffering a concussion in preseason, the speedy forward has
experienced what can be termed as an uphill battle toward recovery.
Nearly five months after suffering the injury, Carr is hoping the finish line is near.

With the suddenness of Adam Moffat’s trade to the Houston Dynamo last week, there was little time for the midfielder to get acclimated before he was thrust into action.

After meeting up with the team in Los Angeles last Thursday night, Moffat got one training session on Friday before being thrown into the mix for the final 23 minutes of Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Chivas USA. All that took place before Moffat even stepped off the plane in his new home city.

To say that the Houston Dynamo’s 3-0 loss to Chivas USA on Saturday was
a setback is an understatement. But
when you examine how the loss - which snapped a four-game unbeaten streak - happened, it is even easier to understand the
frustration felt in the Dynamo locker room after the game.

The plays that led to Houston’s undoing had an all-too-familiar feel.
Defensive misplays, opponents taking advantage of their opportunities,
and a red-card ejection were the main culprits in the loss. Those are
three issues the team has battled throughout the season.

The proverbial wheels fell off after the 30-minute mark for
the Houston Dynamo on Saturday night at the Home Depot Center, as a 3-0 loss at Chivas USA extended the team’s road woes.

“We didn’t play well,” Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear told reporters
matter-of-factly after the match. “I’m not going to make any excuses.
We didn’t play well, and when you don’t play well, you’re going to lose
more than you win.”

Justin Braun scored his second hat trick of the year as Chivas USA defeated the Houston Dynamo 3-0 in front of 11,013 at The Home Depot Center on Saturday night. The victory marked the first time that Chivas USA had defeated the Dynamo in league play since August 26, 2006, snapping a 12-game regular season winless streak against Dominic Kinnear's men and extending the Goats' unbeaten streak in league play to five straight.
