The Houston Dynamo aren’t playing for revenge on Saturday against the Philadelphia Union. They’re playing for pride.

“It’s not revenge for one game, it's revenge for the entire year,” midfielder Brad Davis. “We’re playing for pride and our jobs and a spot on the team next year and to show that the year is not a complete wash."

Houston goalkeeper Pat Onstad appears to be making a late push this week to get healthy and is hopeful to be available for the team’s match Saturday against Philadelphia at PPL Park.

Onstad participated fully in practice on Friday for the first time this week. While the veteran is still recovering from the concussion he suffered after colliding with the elbow of defender Andrew Hainault last weekend, Onstad also admitted he has a painful thumb injury that has been hindering him.

With the departure of former president Oliver Luck, Houston Dynamo COO Chris Canetti has added to his role as the person in charge of the business operations of the club. While working on finalizing a lease for a new stadium with the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority, Canetti and Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear are likely to embark on the team’s busiest off-season ever.

Canetti talked exclusively with MLSSoccer.com about the current season and future plans for the club.

Dynamo goalkeeper Tyler Deric was left by himself to face shots in finishing drills on Tuesday, with starting goalkeeper Pat Onstad sidelined following Saturday's late-game collision and backup Tally Hall still hobbled by a bad ankle. With the next match just four days away, the Dynamo could take the field in Pennsylvania on Saturday with Deric in goal.

No one can doubt Pat Onstad’s heart.

In stoppage time against D.C. United on Saturday, Onstad came out to punch a ball and collided with the elbow of defender Andrew Hainault. With Houston having already used all three substitutions, the Dynamo goalkeeper, bloodied and woozy, stayed on the field through the remainder of the match despite taking quite possibly the hardest collision of his career.
