Ricardo Clark plays the part of invincible man well.

The midfielder with seemingly endless energy represents the standard for what a box-to-box MLS midfielder should be. At 32 years old, he’s even found an attacking touch late in his career, with an MLS-career-high five goals in 2015 with eight games left to go.

It's a remarkable development, especially since two years ago Clark wasn’t even sure if he’d ever play again.

The Houston Dynamo went into the second half of their Wednesday night game against the Colorado Rapids tied 1-1 and with every chance to pull out a victory and make up ground in the Western Conference playoff race.

Instead, Houston managed just one shot on target, conceded a late goal and fell 2-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to absorb another hit to their fading playoff chances.

It may not have been the message the Houston Dynamo wanted to hear after squandering a 2-0 halftime lead Friday against the Portland Timbers in a game that ended in a 2-2 draw, but head coach Owen Coyle said it was a night full of positives for his side.

Not content with the drama of a very late winner last week, the Portland Timbers weathered a two-goal deficit at halftime to come back and tie the Houston Dynamo 2-2 at Providence Park on Friday night.

Goals from Boniek García and Will Bruin put the visitors ahead, before Darlington Nagbe narrowed the scoreline for the Timbers in the final quarter-hour, and Lucas Melano scored his first goal in a Timbers jersey to bring the hosts level.
