Dynamo fall to Chicago Fire, 3-2, in Carolina Challenge Cup opener
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Houston Dynamo fell to the Chicago Fire, 3-2, on Saturday night in the opening game of the Carolina Challenge Cup at Blackbaud Stadium. Adam Moffat and Cam Weaver each scored for the Dynamo, but Chicago received goals from Sherjill MacDonald, Dilly Duka and Jeff Larentowicz to secure the win.
Dynamo kick off Carolina Challenge Cup Saturday vs. Fire
The Dynamo will take on a familiar foe on Saturday when they open the Carolina Challenge Cup against the Chicago Fire at Blackbaud Stadium at 4 p.m. CT. The two teams met four times last year, including in the MLS Cup Playoffs Knockout Round. The Fire held a 1-0-2 advantage during the three regular season matches, but the Dynamo won the match that counted the most, defeating Chicago 2-1 on October 31 at Toyota Park to advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Dynamo announce 2013 preseason schedule
The Houston Dynamo announced their 2013 preseason schedule today, with training sessions beginning on Monday, January 21. The schedule is tentative and subject to change.
During preseason, the Dynamo will train and play friendlies in Tucson, Ariz., from January 29 – February 2. The Arizona trip will include games against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes. All matches will be played at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson.
