Bald is Beautiful

Did you get your head shaved this month? For the fourth consecutive year, the Houston Dynamo and Dynamo Charities, presented by Halliburton, hosted the 2012 Bald is Beautiful campaign, presented by Ensueño® MAX and Pinalen® Max.

Dynamo forward Will Bruin (pictured, right) spearheaded this year's campaign and was joined by Bobby Boswell, Brian Ownby, Tally Hall, Colin Clark, Erich Marscheider, Theron Enns and Tim Hanley at the annual head-shaving day on September 4. On September 6, prior to the Dynamo's match vs. Real Salt Lake, fans had the opportunity to support the cause at a head-shaving event outside BBVA Compass Stadium.

Bald is Beautiful benefits Curing Children’s Cancer Fund, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for children's cancer reserach. The fan event took place on Orange Avenue in the Greenstar Recycling SoccerFest where Dynamo fans could support the effort with a minimum $10 donation to have their head shaved by patients and Sports Clips stylists.  This year, Dynamo fans donated more $1,500 during the pre-game event and more than $11,000 over the course of the campaign.

Several Dynamo Charities board members came out to support the cause. Rob Denton, who led the effort for the board, and Board Chairman Tony Nolte (pictured, left) both went the extra step and participated in the head shaving.
