BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup
The BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup is an annual event bringing prominent international teams to Houston to raise money for charity. A portion of the proceeds from the match are donated to a different charitable cause each year by Dynamo Charities, the charitable arm of the Houston Dynamo presented by the Halliburton Foundation. It began in 2009 when the Dynamo beat Mexican club Monterrey 2-1. In 2010, the Dynamo welcomed Águila from San Miguel, El Salvador, and rolled to a 4-0 win in front of a crowd of 11,843, surpassing the attendance from the inaugural edition.
The 2011 edition saw the Dynamo take on their first European opponent, English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers, and Bolton came away with a 2-0 win.
This year, the Dynamo hosted Valencia CF of Spain in the fourth edition of the BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup with the visitors earning a 2-1 victory.

Partial proceeds from this year's match benefited Junior Achievement, an organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness and financial literacy.
In addition, Dynamo Charities and BBVA Compass and held a food drive at the stadium with all donations benefiting Houston Food Bank. Due to generous donations from fans, Houston Food Bank will be able to provide 7,563 meals to the Houston community.
This fall, Dynamo Charities and BBVA Compass will work to create a Business in Sports program with Junior Achievement to help foster and create future entrepreneurs.
