In February 2012, David Tagliarino joined the Houston Dynamo as Senior Vice President, overseeing the team’s communications, marketing and sponsorship services departments.
Tagliarino brings more than 20 years of experience in sports marketing, event management, community relations, corporate sales, promotions and new business development. He began his career in 1992 working for the Houston Rockets as their Marketing, Promotions and Special Events Manager.
From there,Tagliarino went on to work for the Houston Aeros of the International Hockey League (IHL) as Director of Community Relations and Executive Director of Houston Aeros Charities, their non-profit foundation.
After receiving many accolades for his work in Houston and for the IHL, Tagliarino joined the National Hockey League’s (NHL), Tampa Bay Lightning to serve in a similar role. in 1999, Tagliarino joined Enron Corporation, where he managed their global sports marketing, sponsorships and event marketing initiatives, including the naming rights agreement for Enron Field (now Minute Maid Park).
Tagliarino became SMG’s Director of Sports Marketing & Sponsorships in 2001. During his tenure, he assisted in securing and/or managing various high-profile sporting events, including the 2002 and 2005 Big 12 Conference Football Championships, Super Bowl XXXVIII, the 2008, 2010 and 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Tournaments and the 2011 and 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.
Tagliarino and his wife Lisa currently reside in Missouri City with their three children: Jordan, Taylor, and Colby.
