Senior Vice President Rocky Harris
Rocky Harris joined the Dynamo in April 2008 as vice president, overseeing the team’s communications, marketing and sponsorship services departments.
Prior to joining the Dynamo, Harris was the Director of Sports and Marketing Sponsorships at Reliant Energy, overseeing the largest naming rights deal in the National Football League. Before that, Harris served as the Director of Media Relations and Communications for the Houston Texans and as Media Relations Coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers. He joined the NFL after stints at a web marketing agency in San Francisco, CA and a sports marketing agency in Scottsdale, AZ.
Harris earned his bachelor’s degree at Arizona State University. He later graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in sports management from the University of San Francisco. He also earned a certificate in leadership from Rice University and completed the Applied Management Program at Purdue University.
Harris has extensive experience in communications and marketing, having managed the Texans' staff to the Pete Rozelle Award, given by the Pro Football Writers of America to the NFL's top public relations staff. He was also honored with the American Marketing Association's Crystal Award in 2006 and 2007 for the best promotional campaign. In 2010, Harris was recognized as Major League Soccer’s Marketing Executive of the Year and also received the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award.
Harris spends his free time volunteering in the community and recently joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Board of Trustees.
Harris lives in Midtown with his wife, Elizabeth, and one-year-old daughter, Hope.
