The Houston Sports Park, a Houston Parks Board facility operated by the Dynamo, will open in 2010 as a training center for the Dynamo Academy and is expected to house Dynamo first team training sessions in 2011 after further additions to the facility.
Located near the intersection of Highway 288 and Airport Blvd., the Houston Sports Park will include one grass championship field and six artificial turf multipurpose fields in Phase 1, with more grass and turf fields to come.
The facility will also benefit from a 2010 U.S. Soccer Foundation Footprint Fields grant to provide a FieldTurf field available in all weather conditions. The multipurpose fields are expected to be used by the Houston community for soccer, football, rugby, lacrosse, and more.
