Tryout Information
Date: February 2, 2013
Time: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Location: UH - Downtown Jesse H. Jones Student Life Center (One Main Street, Houston, TX 77002)
Requirements
Must be 18 years or older by February 18, 2013
Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
Must have a part-time job or be a part-time student
Bring a current headshot and full-length photo (non-returnable)
Bring a valid driver's license
Bring $20 application fee to the audition
Sign and bring Waiver and Release Agreement (Right-click to download)
Walk-ups are welcome
Wear flesh colored tights, mid-drift dance top, boy shorts/hot pants and dance/tennis shoes
Additional Information
Please arrive to the tryouts at least 15 minutes prior to registration, which is at 8:00 a.m. Bring a copy of both your completed application form and release waiver form with you. You may download your application and waiver online, by filling out an application request below. Applicants will turn in all required material, stretch and attend a brief informational meeting. (Please have all your items out and ready in this order - photos, application, resume and waiver. Also have your license and application fee out, as it will be requested once your items are submitted.) Two dance combinations will be taught. Dancers will be asked to audition by number in groups of four or more. There will be 3 advancement rounds on this day.
There will be a 60 minute lunch break. You may either leave to get food nearby or bring your own lunch. (Please be prepared to stay the entire length of the audition. It's recommended that you bring plenty to eat and drink throughout the day to keep your energy level up.)
Auditions are scheduled to end at approximately 6 p.m. (Auditions are closed to the public.) Finalists chosen on this day will be interviewed and will attend the final audition, TBD. Location and details for final auditions will be provided at the end of the day.
