James Clarkson - Director, Youth Development

The Dynamo Youth Development System is led by James Clarkson. Prior to joining the Dynamo, James was the South Texas Youth Soccer Association's Director of Coaching for nearly five years. He holds a USSF 'A' and National Youth License, a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma/GK Level 2 and English FA coaching certificates. He is also a national instructor for US Soccer and US Youth Soccer.

James played professionally with the Manawatu AFC in New Zealand during the 1995 season before returning to Wisbech in 1996 to join the Wisbech Town Football Club as the Reserve and Youth Team Coach. He came to the United States in 1997 and joined the Eclipse Soccer Club where he served as the Boys Director of Training.

Eddie Robinson - Assistant Director, Youth Development

In January 2012, Eddie Robinson retired from Major League Soccer to join the front office of the Houston Dynamo. The four-time MLS Cup winner works with the Dynamo Academy, serve as a color commentator for various TV and radio broadcasts, and work with Dynamo Charities as an ambassador to the Houston community.

An 11-year veteran of MLS, Robinson played five seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes before moving with the club to Houston in 2006. Robinson quickly established himself as a fan favorite among the Dynamo faithful. The 33-year-old center back won two MLS Cup championships with the Earthquakes (2001 and 2003) and two with the Dynamo (2006 and 2007).

In six seasons in Houston, Robinson played 96 regular season matches in addition to nine playoff contests.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., Robinson played four seasons at the University of North Carolina before the Earthquakes selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft. Robinson was named to the MLS All-Star team in 2006 and the MLS Best XI squad in 2007.

Michael Fasching - Youth Development Coordinator

Michael holds a USSF National 'C' and National Youth Coaching License and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA in Business Management.

Scot Fraser - U-18 assistant coach

Scot was a part-time football professional in both Scotland and England and captained the Scotland and the Great Britain student representative teams in international competition. He was selected for the East of Scotland League semi-professional representative team prior to moving to England. He began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of Edinburgh and then became head coach at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh leading them to their first senior cup success in his first season. He was awarded the Scottish Football Association "A" License and joined the SFA’s Elite Technical Association for Coaches. He managed the Scottish international student team for two years. He continued his European coaching education in England, Holland and Austria prior to moving to the United States in 2000. He has since worked with the University of St Thomas in Houston and joined the Houston Dynamo Academy coaching staff in 2008.

Fraser holds a UEFA "A" coaching license.

 

John DeWitt - Academy Sports Performance Coach

He holds a USSF 'A' and National Youth License and an NSCAA Premier Diploma. He is also an STYSA coaching education instructor and an ODP coach. He is the former head coach at the University of New Mexico and he currently coaches for Space City Futbol Club.

 

 

 

 

Ivan Burkett - Athletic trainer

Ivan joined the Academy in its first year in 2007. He studied sports medicine at the University of Michigan and is a licensed athletic trainer.
