Bruin scores two in USMNT closed-door scrimmage

By Jonathan Kaplan

The U.S. men's national team played a closed-door scrimmage yesterday afternoon against Club Tijuana's reserves at the Home Depot Center. We don't expect any highlights to surface, but reports have said that Dynamo forward Will Bruin scored two goals in his side's win. Wasserman Media Group agent Aaron Maines appears to have had a front-row seat for the scrimmage (as evidenced by his Twitpic) and sent the following update:

This is definitely good news for Bruin, who is in his first camp with the USMNT. It's too early to say if this type of showing might earn Bruin a spot on a World Cup qualifying squad, but if he continues to show well in training, there is a good chance to see Bruin line up against Canada for the January 29 match at BBVA Compass Stadium.
