Once again a Dynamo player is getting some recognition in MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week, but this time for offense. This week, Giles Barnes was named to the team of the week for his two goal night against Chivas USA and overall solid performance on Saturday night. Here’s what the editors had to say about Barnes’ performance on Saturday:
“Ran roughshod on Chivas’ defense and put in the effort on the defensive end to go with his two goals. He looks like a man on a mission in 2014.”
It was Barnes’ third two-goal game since joining the Dynamo in 2012 and first since last September, when Chivas USA was again on the wrong end of a big night from Barnes. The Dynamo will try to carry the momentum to their match against the Columbus Crew on Wednesday at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Eddie and Sebastian discuss Saturday's big win over Chivas USA, Brad Davis' World Cup chances, Servando Carrasco's performance, the future of Chivas USA and much more.

Giles Barnes has the ability to propel soccer balls into a net at very high speeds using his feet. This is an ideal trait in a soccer player, as well as in a candidate for the MLSsoccer.com Goal of the Week. As it turns out, Giles is both of these things thanks to his laser goal against Chivas USA last weekend. So please, vote for him here.
Look at these other goals in this video. Not nearly as Giles Barnes-y as Giles Barnes' goal. They are not worthy of your vote. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday.
Randy Waldrum, Erin McLeod and Stephanie Ochs describe Saturday's tough loss to Kansas City.
