The Houston Dynamo have waived midfielder Josue Soto, the team announced today.

The 24-year-old former Dynamo Academy midfielder was signed to a homegrown contract on January 19, 2011. Soto did not feature in any league matches over the past two seasons. The Fort Worth, Texas native spent the majority of the 2012 season on loan to the San Antonio Scorpions of the North American Soccer League. Soto appeared in 24 games for the Scorpions and tallied two goals and three assists. Soto also came on as a substitute for the Dynamo in a 1-0 loss to San Antonio in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

The Dynamo will open their 2013 season on March 2 when they host D.C. United at BBVA Compass Stadium. Individual game tickets are not yet available, but tickets for all matches can be purchased through full or partial season ticket packages.
