Dynamo Daily - May 10, 2010
The Houston
Dynamo went to The Home Depot Center on Saturday and came away with a 2-0 win over Chivas USA. Houston
continued its dominance
with its 11th straight win over the Goats. As Grahame Jones points out, the Chivas defense was nonexistent
for the first 10 minutes of the game. Dominic Kinnear deviated
from his normal 4-4-2 formation to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation for the game, and it paid dividends.
Adrian
Serioux and Craig Waibel started their first games of the season and anchored
a backline that posted its third shutout of the season. Check out the fantastic goals by Serioux and Brad
Davis. Can you say Goal of
the Week?
Houston native Nelson Castro was named
the winner of the 2010 Sueño MLS contest. Castro is the youngest
winner in the history of the contest and will now join the Dynamo Academy.
Although
Brian Ching missed his sixth straight match due to a left hamstring injury, he
is still optimistic
about his chances of making the preliminary roster for the U.S. World Cup
team.
If you were
concerned about your safety at the World Cup, have no fear, South African police
officers are working
hard to get in shape before they host the grand event. Unfortunately those same officers that are
working hard to keep you safe are also rooting for a U.S. to not advance to the second
round.
