night’s U.S. Open Cup match ended with a Dynamo
, after Lovel Palmer scored the only goal of the match in the 81st
minute. Luis Landín played
at the attacking midfield position before an injury forced him out of
the game in the first half. Although it was not their finest
, the Dynamo were happy to come away with the win. Tally Hall improved
to 3-1 in Open Cup games.

The next
match for the Open Cup will be Tuesday night at Robertson Stadium against Chivas USA,
who advanced with a 1-0 win of their own over the Austin Aztex.

MLSsoccer.com ranks the Dynamo 10th in
their latest power rankings.

Tired of
that buzzing sound on your TV during World Cup matches? So are we. That’s why
MLS and the Houston Dynamo have banned vuvuzelas
from the MLS All-Star Game. Speaking of the All-Star Game, Dynamo head coach
Dominic Kinnear will serve
as an assistant coach to the MLS squad. Kinnear will also run training sessions
on July 26 and July 27, with head coach Bruce Arena out of the country for CONCACAF
Champions League matches.

The Dynamo
face off against Toronto FC tomorrow on ESPN2. See the MLS match preview here.

If you
can’t make the trip to Toronto, be sure to check out the
viewing party
 at Hooters Stafford.

Cruz takes some time
to talk to HoustonDynamo.com about his hobbies, MLS
play, and the World Cup.
