The Houston Dynamo U-17 squad defeated the U-17 squad from Chivas USA last night, 1-0, to claim first place in Group C and advance to the semifinals of the SUM U-17 Cup. The Dynamo will take on Real Salt Lake tonight at 7:45 p.m. with D.C. United and the Columbus Crew kicking off in the other semifinal match at 6 p.m.

Tonight is the Houston Dynamo’s All-Star Jam!  The Houston Chronicle highlights tonight’s
events and gives a small breakdown of Sir Alex Ferguson’s comments on
the upcoming All-Star Game. The eyes of the world are on Houston this week and it looks as if the city is up for the challenge.

The Oregonian reports that former Dynamo assistant coach John
Spencer is the frontrunner
to coach MLS expansion club Portland Timbers.

MLSsoccer.com compiled a roster of their all-time Houston Best XI. Some of those names might look a little familiar.

U.S. national team player Omar Salgado, who recently signed a generation Adidas contract with MLS, scored the game-winning goal against China in the Milk Cup.

After opening his Red Bulls career playing exhibitions against European clubs, Thierry Henry will now have to face the reality of playing in MLS, Saturday night in Houston.
