After earning results in stoppage time in each of their last two games, the Dynamo allowed a goal to Vancouver substitute Shea Salinas in the 86th minute to fall to 0-5-8 on the road this season. Houston had a chance to tie the game in stoppage time, but Joe Cannon saved a free kick from Brad Davis.
Both teams had good scoring chances in the match, with Joe Cannon making six saves for Vancouver and Tally Hall making four stops for the Dynamo. Houston’s best chance came in the 11th minute, when midfielder Adam Moffat rifled a 35-yard shot off the crossbar. Houston also had several chances on Brian Ching headers in the second half.
In goal for Houston, Tally Hall made four saves to reach 100 saves for his MLS career. Hall made highlight-reel stops on a Mustapha Jarju header in the 41st minute and a close-range blast by Eric Hassli in the 53rd minute.
The loss broke a five-game unbeaten streak (3-0-2) for the Dynamo and dropped Houston to 4-2-5 in its last 11 games. It also broke a 12-game unbeaten streak (5-0-7) for Houston in games started by Brian Ching, dating back to September 2010.
