David Tagliarino announced as new Dynamo Senior Vice President

The Houston Dynamo have hired David Tagliarino as the club’s new Senior Vice President, it was announced today. Tagliarino will replace former Senior Vice President Rocky Harris and oversee the club’s communications, marketing and sponsorship services departments.

Tagliarino brings more than 20 years of experience in sports marketing, event management, community relations, corporate sales, promotions and new business development to the Dynamo. Since 2001, Tagliarino has served as Director of Sports Marketing & Sponsorships for SMG-Reliant Park, assisting in securing and/or managing high-profile sporting events such as Super Bowl XXXVIII, the 2011 and 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four, the 2008, 2010 and 2015 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional tournaments and the 2002 and 2005 Big 12 Conference Football Championships.

“I am very excited to add a qualified professional such as David to our staff,” Dynamo president Chris Canetti said. “He has vast experience in sports management and strong ties to our community. He brings great credibility and a solid reputation to the Dynamo. I am confident that he will fit in well with our organization and be an important part of our very bright future.”

Before SMG/Reliant Park, Tagliarino managed global sports marketing, sponsorships and event marketing initiatives for Enron Corporation, including the naming rights agreement for Enron Field (now Minute Maid Park).

“After being part of the Houston sports community for the past 20 years, I’m extremely excited to be joining the Houston Dynamo organization,” said Tagliarino. “I’ve always had tremendous respect for how they manage their business and their constant commitment to the community. The Dynamo have accomplished great things both on and off the field in their short tenure. When BBVA Compass Stadium opens on May 12, not only will the Dynamo have a new place to call home, but so will I.”

Tagliarino has served as Vice President of Community Relations with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Director of Community Relations and Executive Director of Charities for the Houston Aeros and Marketing, Promotions and Special Events Manager with the Houston Rockets.

Under Tagliarino’s guidance, the Tampa Bay Lightning received national acclaim for finishing runner-up for the 1999 Pro Team Award, which recognizes sports franchises for their outstanding work within their communities.
