Houston Dynamo center back Geoff Cameron has been invited to join the U.S. men’s national team camp that is currently training at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, in Orlando, Fla. The squad will train until May 25 at which time the final 23-man roster will be announced for the five-game series, which includes three friendlies and two FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Cameron, 26, has played every minute of the Dynamo’s first ten games of the season, anchoring a back line that has produced four shutouts thus far.

“Geoff Cameron is a guy that is really knocking at the door,” U.S. men’s national team head coach Jürgen Klinsmann said. “He had a strong January camp but has also had very strong performances for Houston.”

This is the third call-up for Cameron under Klinsmann, and his sixth overall. The Massachusetts native has earned three international caps. Cameron last featured for the national team in a 1-0 win over Panama on January 25.

The 27-man squad will train in Orlando until May 25, at which time the final 23-man roster for the coming matches will be selected. The USMNT will play Scotland in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 26 at EverBank Field (7 p.m. CT, NBC Sports Network, Galavision) before traveling to Landover, Md. to take on five-time World Cup champions Brazil on May 30 at FedExField (7 p.m. CT, ESPN2, TeleFutura). The squad will then head north for a match against Dynamo defender André Hainault and the Canadian national team at BMO Field in Toronto on June 3 (6 p.m. CT, NBC Sports Network, Univision).

The five-game swing concludes with a pair of matches to start World Cup qualifying. On June 8, the national team hosts Antigua & Barbuda at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. (6 p.m. CT, ESPN, Galavision). They will then play their first road game of the cycle against Guatemala (June 12, 9 p.m. CT) before returning back home.

Upon completion of his international duties, Cameron will rejoin the Dynamo for the Texas Derby against FC Dallas on June 16 at BBVA Compass Stadium (4 p.m. CT, ESPN2, BUY TICKETS).
