The Dynamo are in fifth place and hold the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference after a 2-0 win against New England last weekend extended their home unbeaten record (10-0-5). Their streak currently stands at a team-record 23 regular season games and the Dynamo are the only team in Major League Soccer that is undefeated at home in 2012.

“This is a huge game for the club with major playoff implications,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “We are hoping to continue our streak of success at BBVA Compass Stadium behind the great support of our fan base. I want to encourage fans to come on out to see some great soccer and cheer the team to victory.”

If the Dynamo finish the 2012 season undefeated at home, they will become just the fourth team in Major League Soccer history to complete a season without a regular season home loss. Dominic Kinnear was also head coach of the 2005 San Jose Earthquakes, one of three teams to complete a perfect home season.

The Impact return to action off a scoreless draw with Sporting KC and cannot afford to lose a single point over their final three games in order to reach the MLS Cup Playoffs in their expansion season. The teams are meeting for the third time, after high-scoring affairs in their first two. Davy Arnaud and Patrice Bernier each had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 Impact win, June 23 at Stade Saputo, in the first meeting. A brace from Macoumba Kandji led the Dynamo to a 3-0 win July 21 in Houston.
