Houston clinched a playoff spot with a dramatic 86th-minute bicycle kick from Brian Ching that was later named Goal of the Year and gave the Dynamo a 1-0 win over Supporters’ Shield winner D.C. United. In front of more than 20,000 fans, the Dynamo left it late before Ching reacted first to a Paul Dalglish header and drove a spectacular shot into the corner for the win.
