Houston Dynamo forward and captain Brian Ching will miss several weeks with a hamstring injury, the team announced Friday.

Ching suffered a left hamstring strain during the first half of Thursday night’s game against Real Salt Lake at Robertson Stadium. He was evaluated Friday morning by the Dynamo medical staff and will undergo further tests next week to determine the extent of the injury. There is no set timetable for his return.

“The injury has been evaluated by team doctors, and I’m hoping to get an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the strain,” Ching said. “I have already started doing rehab and will be doing so until I can return to the playing field.”

The Dynamo will continue their current three-game homestand on Saturday, April 10, hosting the Los Angeles Galaxy at Robertson Stadium at 7:30 p.m. A special offer for tickets and donations benefitting The House That Ching Built, a project in which Ching is raising money for Houston Habitat for Humanity to build a house for an underprivileged family, is available at http://HoustonDynamo.com/house-ching-built.
