50 years ago, Manchester United came to the United States and played on public high school soccer fields. This summer, Manchester United will come to the States and play in professional venues with the support of their 9 million fans in North America.


Officials from Manchester United were in the States yesterday, promoting the North American tour. In New York, manager Sir Alex Ferguson addressed the media and expressed his excitement about the tour. Down in Houston, MLS commissioner Don Garber and Manchester United commercial director Richard Arnold spoke about the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. Commissioner Garber would not guarantee a victory for MLS but pointed out that the All-Stars have defeated top clubs such as Chelsea, Chivas de Guadalajara, and Celtic. Dynamo midfielder Lovel Palmer is mentioned in this Jamaica Observer article about a former Tivoli Gardens National Premier League coach - apparently Lovel is having to increase his fitness in MLS.


The latest MLS power rankings show the discrepancy between the conferences, as five of the top six teams hail from the Western Conference.  The Dynamo are ranked sixth, dropping three spots from last week.


The Dynamo Academy U-18 squad played Dallas Texans Houston to a scoreless draw last night at Meyer Park in Spring.


The Houston Dynamo are hosting their Celebrity Pour event tonight at Lucky's Pub. Come out between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and receive free domestic beer and wine from your favorite Dynamo players. All proceeds go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and their fight against cancer.
