The Houston Dynamo defeated D.C. United 2-0 Saturday night in front of the largest Robertson Stadium crowd of the season. Check out photos and highlights from the match. The Dynamo held on to the fifth spot in ESPN’s week 9 power rankings.

Midfielder Danny Cruz made his first MLS start a memorable one, tallying a goal and an assist in the victory. At 20 years and 139 days old, Cruz became the youngest goalscorer in Dynamo history. The decision to start Cruz paid off for head coach Dominic Kinnear, who rewarded his young midfielder for his strong efforts against RSL and in training.

Filling in for Pat Onstad, who is representing Canada in an international friendly, Tally Hall also started his first regular season MLS game and posted a shutout. Hall is pleased with his performance but is more excited to earn the three points for the team.

Speaking of Onstad, the Dynamo goalkeeper found time to sit down for a Q and A with San Jose-based Center Line Soccer before today’s match against Argentina. Defender Andrew Hainault, who will also represent the Canadian national team, blogged about his experience on HoustonDynamo.com.

Following the Dynamo victory over D.C. United, the Dynamo Academy took on the U.S. U-17 national team, which featured Dynamo Academy players Fernando Piña and Bryan Celis. The hard-fought game ended in a scoreless draw.

Dynamo COO Chris Canetti offered insight in his latest edition of Canetti’s Corner, including the possibility of a Brad Davis contract extension.

Matt Musil caught up with Dynamo forward Joseph Ngwenya to discuss his return to the Dynamo first team.

Dynamo forward Brian Ching has unfinished business for the U.S. national team after riding the bench for the squad during the 2006 World Cup.

In the latest Dynamo Gameday Magazine feature, one can read about Bobby Boswell as a vocal leader, on and off the field, since arriving in Houston prior to the 2008 season.
