The Houston Dynamo Academy played its first home games of the 2010-11 season on Saturday but came up short in both contests, falling to the Dallas Texans 3-1 at the U-18 level and 2-1 in the U-16 match.

The U-18s held a 1-0 advantage when playing at full strength but gave up three goals while playing with 10 men - once due to injury and twice following a red card - to drop their second consecutive 3-1 decision. Houston dominated possession and chances at even strength but only scored through a right-wing free kick from Abe Matamoros (Strake Jesuit) before halftime.

The Dynamo had the edge in play early in the second half, with forward Martin Castillo (Pasadena Sam Rayburn) seeing two shots saved in the first 12 minutes alone. A second yellow card to defender Juan Ramirez in the 54th minute gave Dallas the advantage for the remainder of the half, and the Texans scored in the 66th and 76th minutes to take the win. Houston goalkeeper Philip Blake (Deer Park) made two saves in the final 10 minutes to keep the final margin at 3-1.

U-18 Highlights: Dynamo Academy 1, Texans 3

In the second game, Houston's U-16s fell behind with a sluggish first half but responded well, controlling play in the second half. They could only pull back one goal, however, evening their record at 1-1.
