HOU_Billboard_Dallas

On Sunday, the Houston Dynamo kicked off their 2011 Residential Elite Camp at Our Lady of the Lake University, in San Antonio, Texas. The campers, whose ages range from 8-18, arrived in the early afternoon at Flores Hall, where they were given their room assignments and Statoil training jerseys.

After all of the players settled into their rooms, they were brought to the auditorium for the opening ceremony. During the ceremony, the campers were told what it means to put on the Dynamo jersey and what the staff expected from them during the week. After the ceremony, the campers went to dinner, where they feasted on chicken parmesan and green beans, while they watched the U.S. defeated Czech Republic in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

For the night cap, the players were split into their respective age groups and were finally able to take their game to the pitch. Each group began their session with some light jogging and stretching before kicking the ball around. After that, each group participated in a series of passing and dribbling drills. After an hour-and-a-half of play, the coaches called it a night, offering the campers a chance to go back to the dormitory and rest up, before the busy week that lay ahead.
