Last week, 60 players aged 13-18 participated in the Houston Dynamo Academy Tryout Camp held at the Houston Amateur Sports Park. Participants signed up for the free tryout seeking an opportunity to showcase their ability and gain a roster position on one of the Houston Dynamo's Academy squads.

The potential Academy prospects were  tested with a series of Academy style training sessions, physical testing activities and scrimmages against current Academy players.

Players from Europe, South and Central America and all across the United States traveled in for the opportunity to represent the renowned Dynamo Academy, currently responsible for providing four first team players for the Houston Dynamo.

"We were very pleased with the level of players who attended our tryout," said Dynamo Director of Youth Development James Clarkson. "It shows how far we have come over the past five years that players from all over the world want to be a part of our program."

Overall 10 players were selected to join the Houston Dynamo Academy for pre-season training, beginning in Mid-August.

Nicholas Cabrera, Missouri City, TX
Leopoldo Castillo, Houston, TX
Jorge Contreras, Houston, TX
