Houston Dynamo forward Cam Weaver underwent arthroscopic surgery today to repair a torn labrum  and remove bone spurs in his right hip. The procedure was performed by Dr. Kaare Kolstad of the Methodist Hospital System.  Weaver is expected to miss the rest of the 2011 season.

Weaver scored four goals in 28 MLS games for the Dynamo this year and scored in a Sept. 4 friendly against Monterrey but has been playing through the injury for much of the season.

Currently in position to qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs, the Dynamo are off this weekend but will return to action on Friday, October 14, taking on wildcard playoff rival Portland on the road. Houston will close its regular season at home against the first-place LA Galaxy on Sunday, October 23, at Robertson Stadium. Tickets are available by calling (713) 276-GOAL or logging on to HoustonDynamo.com.
