The Houston Dynamo will open the 2012 Major League Soccer season on Sunday, March 11, against Chivas USA at The Home Depot Center.  The match, which can be seen nationally on Galavision, is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. CT.

The Dynamo are 0-1-2 when opening the MLS season on the road and are 0-3-3 all-time in road openers. Houston split the home-and-away series with Chivas in 2011 and is 9-2-5 all-time against the Goats in the regular season.

With the addition of Montreal Impact as the 19th team in MLS, the league has gone back to an unbalanced schedule, meaning that every team will not play every other team home and away. Nine games will be played during the opening week of the season, with four of those games to be broadcast on national TV. The full league schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
