The Houston Dynamo Academy, presented by Statoil, is holding an open house on Friday, June 1 at the Houston Amateur Sports Park. This is a unique opportunity for players that are interested in joining the program to meet with current Academy players and coaches and learn more about the program. The open house will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to players that are born between 1994 and 1999.

“This is an opportunity for players of various ages to get a look at and experience the Dynamo Academy first-hand in addition to finding out more information about the club”, said James Clarkson, Houston Dynamo Director of Youth Development.  “It gives them the opportunity to meet the Academy staff, as well as have the chance to play in front of the coaches.”

At the open house, players can experience and take a dive into everything that the club has to offer. The Houston Dynamo Academy program provides a challenging curriculum that allows players of all ages and abilities to discover the game under close supervision of the experienced staff. While teams are comprised of the best youth soccer players in the Houston area, players are encouraged to aspire toward success both on and off of the field.

The Academy U-16 and U-18 teams train four days per week in a professional environment and compete in the United States Soccer Development Academy league, the most competitive youth league in the country. Historically, the Academy’s top players have been invited to train with the Dynamo first team as opportunities arise throughout the season. Successful Academy graduates can be designated as Dynamo homegrown players and can eventually be promoted directly to the Dynamo first team. Since its inception, four Dynamo Academy players have earned contracts with the Dynamo first team. For more information on the Dynamo Academy please visit HoustonDynamo.com/Academy.
