Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear
Opening Comments

"It was a tough game for both teams. We went three games in a week that involved extreme heat, so to come out of the week with a win and two draws is a pretty good accomplishment. I told the guys in the locker room that I appreciated the hard work and the commitment they showed for 90 minutes. We may have had the win if not for a great save from Jimmy Nielsen. I think that both teams had some chances and decent play, but the goals weren’t there tonight. I think that it was a good point for us."

On leading the league in draws…

"I think it’s just a coincidence. We don’t go into games looking for ties. Teams are close and don’t really give much away. That is what happens. We had a little bit of luck with the post, and Jimmy Nielsen made a couple good saves. It is a difficult league and teams are pretty even, so I think that is why we have the number of ties that we do."

On how many shots were against Dynamo…

"The thing we did when they were shooting the ball is to put pressure on them and not give them the open lane. We always had some legs and bodies in front of the ball. They never really had a clear look, we always seemed to have four or five guys trying to get to the ball and cut down the angle. You may give up shots, but you’re not giving up chances.”

On LIVESTRONG Sporting Park…

"Coming here is an absolute joy. It is a great place to play and the people of Kansas City should be very proud of this stadium."

Houston Dynamo defender Bobby Boswell
General comments on the match…

"It was a hot night. We are used to this heat and I am sure Kansas City is used to it. But, with how hot it was today, it is kind of hard to get used to 103-degree heat. The game was a little slower and I think we were a little more defensive minded. We didn’t want to give up a goal and that’s kind of the end product. Both teams had there chances and we had ours and at the end of the day though that’s good defense prevailing on both ends."

On the absence of Geoff Cameron…

"Formations are changing and we are playing a different style. The guys in front of the back four are working tremendously. The whole team, we had kind of gotten away from team defense for a while, and now the teams working really hard together and that’s why you are seeing the results go the way they are."

On three games in a week…

"I think for us it was pretty tough tonight. The third game in a week, I know for both teams, but last time we were here, we kind of took a victory we knew they wanted and we knew that they were going to come out fired up, and they did. Now we get a chance to show them our brand new stadium. They have been pretty good on the road this year, it’s a tough team to break down and they can score a lot of goals. We have a team before them in our Conference in D.C. United so we are going to worry about them first but you play them in their place and you get a point on the road. We’ll take it. Hopefully we take three-points away from it when we go back home."

Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall
General comments on the match…

"It was a hard fought point for us. A team like Kansas City that has as many attacking threats as they do. For us to come out of here with a shutout is a good step for our momentum and our confidence. As a goalkeeper that’s what I’m taking away from the match."

On three games in a week…

"You work as a team and hopefully you can play smart and be an efficient passing and effective team so that you don’t work as hard, rather play a little bit smarter. At the end of the day, it’s all about finishing games and working hard, and I think the team has done that."

On facing Sporting Kansas City in ten days…

"I can’t promise it’s going to be any cooler, obviously the temperatures the same for both teams. It is going to be a tough match again."

Houston Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis
General comments on the match…

"Obviously, everybody knows it was hot. You could tell both teams were kind of sitting back a little bit and trying to break out and capitalize on each others mistakes. I think it was a well-fought game. It’s a hard place to come and play against a very good team. But, I think our team did well to match their energy. We had a few chances, they had a few chances, we like to win but whenever you can get a few points on the road it’s a good thing."

On facing Sporting Kansas City in ten days…

"Anytime we get a game at home and this is a fun game, they have a good team, it is a good match-up for us. We are excited; any time we can get home into our new stadium is always a good thing. We are looking forward to getting back and hopefully putting three big wins together. We have New York back-to-back right after that so it is a little bit of a weird schedule but it is what it is and hopefully we get through this with some big wins."
