With MLS off last weekend due to a FIFA break, four Houston Dynamo players took the field for their respective countries, looking to secure a berth in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, otherwise known as the Hexagonal. Dynamo defender Andre Hainault was the only victor of the group, as his Canadian side defeated a short-handed Cuba 3-0 at BMO Field in Toronto. Hainault started and played 90 minutes for the Reds, picking up a yellow card in the 82nd minute.

In Panama, Boniek Garcia and Honduras came away with a scoreless draw, leaving them on the outside looking in heading into their final group stage match. Garcia started and played 90 minutes for Los Catrachos, who will host Canada on Tuesday, needing a win to advance to the final round.

In Group A action, Jamaica lost at Guatemala 2-1, leaving them in third place in their group. Jermaine Taylor played 90 minutes for the Reggae Boyz, while Je-Vaughn Watson started, but was subbed out in the 42nd minute. To advance to the Hex, Jamaica will need to defeat Antigua Barbuda, have the United States defeat Guatemala and make up a three-goal differential on Guatemala to take the tiebreaker.
