"The best-laid plans of mice and men / Often go awry"

There is no better phrase to describe the Eastern Conference semifinal series between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United. After the venues of the two legs were switched due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, last night's second leg could not be played due to a nor'easter that swept through the NY/NJ area.

Although the Eastern Conference Championship match-up was supposed to be decided last night, the Dynamo will have to wait until tonight to learn their opponent. Asked if he had a preference between playing the two teams, Dynamo defender Kofi Sarkodie was quick with an answer.

"No preference," he said. We just focus on ourselves and continue to move forward and keep the momentum up."

During the regular season, the Dynamo took the season series from D.C. United (2-1-0) but lost it to New York (1-2-0). Houston and D.C. have never met in the playoffs, but the Dynamo and the Red Bulls have met in a series once before. New York knocked out the No. 1 seed Dynamo in the 2008 Western Conference semifinals 4-1 on aggregate.

Tonight's match between the Red Bulls and United will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and can be seen on NBC Sports Network. The game will be followed by the second leg of the Real Salt Lake-Seattle Sounders series, with the winner moving on to face the LA Galaxy in the Western Conference Championship.
