Final Power Rankings of 2012 Season

The final power rankings for the 2012 season have been posted on MLSsoccer.com and despite the Dynamo’s 3-1 defeat to the LA Galaxy this past weekend they have escalated from No. 9 to the No. 2 spot. Here are their final thoughts on the Dynamo’s 2012 season:

Had the Galaxy on the ropes for 60 minutes, and you could very easily argue that the Calen Carr injury is what turned the game. They clearly need another speed option up top, but other than that this team is very, very well put together for a serious Supporters' Shield run in 2013 and, if Dominic Kinnear wants, maybe even a CCL moment to remember.

Overall a good and fair assessment of the Dynamo’s final performance. As victors of the MLS Cup there is no question as to why LA has secured the No. 1 spot in the final poll. Here’s what the writers at MLSsoccer.com had to say about the Galaxy:

Major League Soccer just spent nine months trying to figure out what some fans already knew: It's awfully tough to keep the Galaxy down...Best defender in the league, best striker in the league, best playmaker in the league, arguably the best d-mid in the league. And definitely the best coach in the league. See that picture up there? Bruce is laughing at you because he is Bruce and you are not.

Quite complementary of the MLS Cup Champions who sat in the lower echelon of the power rankings at No. 17 earlier in the season. Do you agree with their final appraisal of the Galaxy? Is Landon Donovan and Omar Gonzales the best in the league? Please share your thoughts below!
