Ask any player or coach in the Dynamo locker room, and they will tell you that the only game that matters is the one that is ahead of them. But now that the Dynamo are within one of tying the MLS record for consecutive home games unbeaten in all competitions, no one would blame the coaches or players for reflecting on the past 33.
Coming off losses to Santos Laguna and FC Dallas, tonight's 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps not only put the Dynamo back on the right track, but it kept their remarkable home run alive.
“Our home is a fortress so we always have a little bit of an extra lift, kind of like a 12th man," said midfielder Giles Barnes after the match. "We thought we could come here and get the two losses out of our system.”
Up next for the Dynamo is a visit from the San Jose Earthquakes for 2012 MLS MVP Chris Wondolowski. If the Dynamo can earn a result against the Earthquakes, they will tie Real Salt Lake's home unbeaten record in all competitions.

Tonight's win also pushes the Dynamo to 27 consecutive regular season home games unbeaten, their last loss coming on June 18, 2011 agains the Columbus Crew at Robertson Stadium. Real Salt Lake's record in MLS play stands at 29, so if the Dynamo hope to nudge their way into the record books, they will have to do earn positive results next Saturday and then again on Sunday, April 14 when the Chicago Fire visit BBVA Compass Stadium.
