Power Rankings Week: 7

After Houston’s 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire, the Dynamo now hold the longest unbeaten home streak in MLS with 35 games in all competitions and the No. 3 spot in this week’s power rankings by MLSsoccer.com. Here is what MLSsoccer.com had to say about the unbeaten streak:

There was very little doubt that they'd make it 35 unbeaten at home last weekend, right? That's the sign of a consistently professional team – both the length of the streak itself, and the almost "ho-hum" acceptance that they'd get it done.

Houston’s next rival, Toronto FC moved up a couple spots to No. 15 after their 1-1 tie with the Philadelphia Union. This was MLSsoccer.com’s take on Toronto:

Robert Earnshaw's ability to find goals out of nothing has kept Toronto in the hunt despite the fact that – honestly now – they're being outplayed week after week. And goalkeeper Joe Bendik has been an absolute revelation.

Meanwhile, Bleacher Report’s Joe Tansey has the Dynamo tie at No.2 alongside Sporting Kansas City. On the flip side, goal.com had Houston No.4, while Sports illustrated’s Avi Creditor has the Dynamo at No. 5 on his power rankings.

Now that the home unbeaten streak is history, the Houston Dynamo travel to Toronto in search of their first road points of the season, when they play Toronto FC on Saturday at BMO Field at 3 p.m.
