Dynamo Loan Update - Brian Ownby

It was a good week for Dynamo man Brian Ownby, as he tallied a goal and an assist for the Richmond Kickers in their USL Pro match against the Charlotte Eagles on Saturday, May 4.

Ownby gave Richmond the early lead in the 14th minute of the match (0:40 in the video below). Chasing down a long ball from defender William Yomby, the second year man out of Virginia deftly lofted the bouncing ball over the onrushing goalkeeper for his first goal with the Kickers.

The Dynamo midfielder then provided his 2nd assist of his loan spell in 34th minute to give the Kickers a 2-0 lead (2:30 in the video below). Ownby headed down a bouncing ball at the top of the 18 yard box while under heavy pressure into the path of Stanley Nyazamba. The onrushing attacker slotted it into the far corner to give Richmond a two goal advantage.

Ownby finished his night early in a 69th minute substitution. Charlotte came back with three goals in the second half, but Richmond scored an equalizer in the dying seconds of stoppage time to preserve a draw.

Richmond's next match is this Saturday, May 11 at 6 p.m. CT against Antigua Barracuda FC.
