Goal of the Week

Giles Barnes wins Week 25 Goal of the Week

In one of the tightest races that you'll ever see, Giles Barnes was voted the winner of the Week 25 AT&T Goal of the Week award.

Barnes' long-range blast in the Houston Dynamo's 3-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders edged out New England Revolution forward Juan Agudelo's goal by the slightest of margins, claiming 31.93 percent of the vote while Agudelo earned 31.48 percent for his cheeky back-heel chip over Sean Johnson in the Revolution's 2-0 win against the Chicago Fire.

Barnes captured the award for his second goal in home win against Clint Dempsey and the visiting Sounders. The English midfielder collected a pass from midfielder Brad Davis in the 21st minute of the match and hit a shot with laser-like precision for a stunning strike from about 35 yards out, one that is sure to receive some recognition for Goal of the Year.
