Houston Dynamo recall midfielder Brian Ownby from Pittsburgh Riverhounds

The Houston Dynamo have recalled midfielder
Brian Ownby
from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds for Wednesday’s game against the New York Red Bulls.
Ownby, 23, joined Pittsburgh of USL PRO on loan on April 3 and scored the opening goal in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against the Richmond Kickers. Since joining Pittsburgh, the Dynamo midfielder has made three appearances (two starts) and scored one goal in 213 total minutes with the Riverhounds.
Ownby has featured in 12 games in three seasons with the Dynamo, including substitute appearances in two games this season. The Richmond, Va. native was selected by the Dynamo in the first round of the 2012 Supplemental Draft out of the University of Virginia and tallied two regular season assists in his rookie season. Ownby spent a portion of the 2013 season on loan with the Richmond Kickers of USL PRO and tallied seven goals and six assists in 19 appearances as Richmond won the regular season championship.
Ownby is expected to return to the Riverhounds following Wednesday’s game between the Dynamo and Red Bulls. Kickoff from Red Bull Arena is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
