The Houston Dynamo Academy U-18 team won its third straight game with a 5-0 victory over Real Colorado on Saturday at Houston Sports Park. Emmanuel Usen recorded a hat trick while Matt Dorsey and Elo Ozumba each added goals.

Five different players recorded assists in the win: Christian Lucatero, Bryce Marion, Justin Reyes, Brad Spencer and Louis Thomas.

The U-18s are 10-7-4 (34 points) on the season and in third place in the 13-team Frontier Division of the Central Conference. The team has six games remaining in the regular season, which concludes on June 1. If the season ended today, the team would have qualified for a place in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, which begin June 23 in Indianapolis.

Ozumba leads the U-18 squad with 13 goals while Lucatero has added ten goals this season.

The Dynamo Academy U-16 team extended a five-game unbeaten streak with a 0-0 draw against Real Colorado. The squad is 9-3-9 (36 points) on the season and currently in second place in the Frontier Division of the Central Conference.

Like the U-18s, the U-16s are currently in position to qualify for the Academy Playoffs, but need to take care of business over the final six games to guarantee a place in Indianapolis.

Juan “Charly” Flores leads the group with 18 goals this campaign.

The Academy U-15 squad fell 2-1 to Solar U-15, on Saturday. Jommar Reyes opened the scoring for the U-15s in the 20th minute, finishing his chance on a goal assisted by Jesus Cortina. But Solar equalized three minutes later and converted a penalty in the 53rd minute for the win.

The U-15s are 12-3-4 (40 points) and in third place in the Texas Pre-Academy League.

On Sunday, the Academy U-14s were defeated, 4-3, by the San Antonio Scorpions U-14s. Julio Azrate (28’), David Browne (66’) and Cesar Montelongo (72’) scored goals for Dynamo Academy in the loss.

The U-13s received a hat trick from Felix Serpas and another goal from Marcello Palomino to defeat Solar U-13s, 4-1.
