The Houston Dash travel to New Jersey for their first away game of the season on Saturday to face Carli Lloyd and Sky Blue FC.

Houston played to a 1-1 draw with Reign FC at BBVA Compass Stadium last Sunday to open the 2019 NWSL season. Jane Campbell secured a point for Houston as she saved a penalty kick in the final minutes of second half stoppage time. That was Campbell's fourth career penalty save, two shy of the league record. The USWNT goalkeeper has started in 40 consecutive games for the club, the longest streak for a Dash goalie in franchise history.

Nichelle Prince scored the opening goal of the season for the Dash 10 minutes into the game. The CanWNT forward has five goals under her belt ever since joining the club in 2017, including the first goal of a 2-1 victory over Sky Blue last season.

The Dash swept Sky Blue last season scoring a total of 11 goals in the three matches played. Their first game in the series was decided by Veronica Latsko with a late second half goal to give Houston a 2-1 victory.  In their last matchup, Houston rolled past Sky Blue 6-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium to close the series. Each goal was scored by a different player, which included a tally from the club's Golden Boot Winner, Rachel Daly, and midfielder Sofia Huerta. Houston goes into New Jersey trailing the all-time series with a 4-6-3 record.

Both James Clarkson and Sky Blue FC head coach Denise Reddy will look to get their first victory of the season on Saturday. Reddy and Sky Blue FC fell 2-0 to the Washington Spirit in Week 1. With a victory, Clarkson would be the second Dash head coach to earn their first victory in the second game of the season – joining Randy Waldrum, who secured his first victory with the club in Week 2 of the 2014 season.
