The Houston Dash have re-signed forward Tiffany McCarty, the club announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not released.
McCarty, 24, was acquired by the Dash from the Washington Spirit in the 2014 NWSL Expansion Draft. The Florida State product appeared in 20 matches during the 2014 season, starting 11. McCarty finished the year tied with two others for the team lead in goals with four, and included one assist.
McCarty will also go on a three-month loan to Albirex Niigata Ladies of the Japanese L. League beginning on Oct. 1. McCarty previously went on loan with Niigata following the 2013 NWSL season and started eight matches, including the Empress’s Cup Final in which she scored two goals.
McCarty will return to the Dash before the start of the 2015 NWSL season.
