Top 10 Moments in Dynamo History: Dynamo set MLS record with 36 games unbeaten at home

To commemorate the 10th season of Houston Dynamo soccer, we are counting down the Top 10 moments in Houston Dynamo history as voted on by the fans leading up to our 10th Season Celebration on Oct. 18 against the Seattle Sounders (TICKETS). Next up is No. 5:

The Dynamo lost to the Columbus Crew at Robertson Stadium on June 18, 2011. For nearly two years after that match, Houston fans never saw the home team lose until a 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on May 12, 2013.

In between those losses, the Dynamo played 36 competitive matches without losing—an MLS record for an unbeaten streak at home. The run asserted the Dynamo’s dominance at home, as the team recorded a win in 26 of the 36 matches.

The Dynamo fans took a huge amount of pride in the streak, asserting Houston as one of the toughest places to play in MLS, and even North America, as three matches came in CONCACAF Champions League play (against CD FAS, Olimpia and Santos Laguna).

There were also three MLS playoff matches thrown in the mix—one at Robertson stadium in 2011 and a pair in 2012 at the new BBVA Compass Stadium.
