To commemorate the 10th season of Houston Dynamo soccer, we are counting down the Top 10 moments in Houston Dynamo history as voted on by the fans leading up to our 10th Season Celebration on Oct. 18 against the Seattle Sounders (TICKETS). Next up is No. 2:

When MLS arrived in Houston on April 2, 2006, it arrived in style.

In front of more than 25,000 fans at Robertson Stadium, the Houston Dynamo put on a show to remember with a 5-2 win over the Colorado Rapids.

Forward Brian Ching thrust himself into the Houston sports spotlight by scoring four goals in the inaugural match, all assisted by midfielder Dwayne De Rosario. Alejandro Moreno capped the memorable night with a stoppage time bicycle kick that went on to win MLS Goal of the Week honors.

The inaugural match was a sign of things to come for the Dynamo over the next 10 seasons, as the team became one of the most successful in Houston sports history and Ching became the face of the franchise and a pillar in the Houston community.
