Based in San Miguel, El Salvador, C.D. Aguila has won 15 Salvadoran Premier Division titles, second only to rivals FAS, with its most recent title the 2012 Clausura. Aguila won the CONCACAF Champions Cup in 1976.

Current standing: Aguila is in position to win its first title in three years, currently 9-3-7 (34 points) and in first place, one point ahead of FAS with three games remaining. A veteran forward tandem is leading the way in scoring, with William Reyes, 39, tied with Nicolas Munoz, 33, for the team lead with nine goals.

Key players: Three Aguila players were named to the El Salvador national team squad for this week’s CONCACAF World Cup qualifying matches. Defenders Ibsen Castro and Henry Romero and 22-year-old forward Jose Santos are part of Roman Maradiaga’s squad as El Salvador will try and qualify for its first World Cup finals since 1982.

Among the players that could feature at BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday are captain Deris Umanzor, a former El Salvador international who spent 2010 with the Chicago Fire in MLS, and a collection of players who have featured for El Salvador: Goalkeeper Benji Villalobos, midfielders Isidro Gutierrez, Gilberto Baires and Christian Bautista and forward Rommel Mejia.

History with Dynamo: The Dynamo have met Aguila once before, in the second annual Dynamo Charities Cup on June 20, 2010. The Dynamo cruised to a 4-0 win in the friendly match.
