The Houston Dash will travel to Portland, Oregon for a preseason tournament at Providence Park from March 27-April 2. The Dash will face the Portland Thorns, Seattle Reign of the NWSL and Oregon State University in a round-robin tournament.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the Dash to get some meaningful games during preseason,” Dash managing director Brian Ching said. ”Having a preseason tournament speaks to the growth of the league and is something that we look forward to participating in for years to come.”

This will be the club’s third season in the NWSL. The club finished fifth last season and recently selected defender Cari Roccaro and forwards Rachel Daly and Janine Beckie in the 2016 NWSL College Draft.

“I've always felt we need some sort of an NWSL preseason combine where we are getting top games to prepare,” Dash head coach Randy Waldrum said. “This event gives us the opportunity to play against two of the best teams in the NWSL along with Oregon State where we can experiment with our lineup. This should be a great setup for all the teams involved.”
